Ep.354 Precognition: Through the Glass Darkly

Tonight’s episode, Gabe from Flint, Michigan shares a lifetime of strange encounters that began in childhood and never let go. Schoolyard ESP games and a shattering altar prayer to psychedelic warnings, prophetic dreams, and a vivid encounter with a hovering orb of light, his story threads through faith, trauma, synchronicity, precognition and the search for meaning. Along the way we hear how writing seemed to spill into reality, how a pilot friend reported a UFO between Kamchatka and Alaska, and how patterns of coincidence shaped his belief that consciousness and information are inseparable.

Intro / Background
Born April 26, 1981, Louisville, Kentucky, six weeks premature. Nearly died at birth.
Second child; first sibling died of strep.
Parents both from large families, both “sensitive.” Grew up Catholic.
Family dysfunction, early trauma, complex childhood.
Multiple medical interventions as a child: corrective shoes, eye patch, headgear. Felt unnecessary.
Mental health history: multiple doctors, ADHD label once, but MMPI and others gave him a “clean bill of health.” Positions himself against schizophrenia diagnosis.
Early Paranormal Fascination
Early memories of trauma linked to developing precognition.
Second grade: discovered UFO books at school library. Connected it with feelings of gaslighting at home.
Early ESP experiments at recess: trying to guess famous people chosen by peers. Claimed 30–40% success.
Began drawing and focusing on a personal magic symbol (circle/eye with a cross). Used as meditative focus.
Extended the practice to a fir tree at recess, naming it the “Consulting Tree,” using it as an external anchor for seeking guidance.
Religious Crisis
10th grade, walking late at night, entered unfamiliar Catholic church. Prayed for a sign at a side altar, lit three tapers. Glass ashtray suddenly shattered across the altar. Took shards, left an apology note.
Around the same time, deepening skepticism about Catholicism, leaning toward atheism.
School Experiences
10th grade book report: chose Rasputin at last minute. Invented a title and details. Next day found a real book that matched exactly. Shocked him; interpreted as precognition.
Psychedelic Experience
Early 20s, on LSD in a park with girlfriend. Sudden strong sense of danger; urged her to leave. Seconds later, a large tree limb crashed onto the bench where they had been sitting.
College / Graduate School Era
Continued paranormal interests while under family pressure and academic stress.
Writing intensified. During book project, experienced “manifestations”: people he wrote about knocked on his door; events he described (Canada wildfires, Hawaiian fires) occurred soon after.
Interpreted as precognition spilling into writing process.
Major Orb Experience (2018)
Age 38, late September. While praying to finish his book, woke at night to a bright orb hovering three feet away. Multicolored, semi-transparent, intense.
Internal “download”: “There is no information is itself information.”
Vision of two circles merging into vesica piscis.
Connected later to Buddhist “thigle” imagery; saw near-identical representation in “The All-Knowing Buddha” text.
Mother’s Reported Red Light
His mother once briefly admitted to seeing a red light in her room, but withheld details.
Pilot Friend’s UFO Report
Friend (professional pilot, 20k flight hours) saw bright, fast-orbiting light between Kamchatka and Alaska. Six planes (12 pilots) confirmed on channel 123.45. Gabe had intuitively expected he would see a UFO.
Precognitive “Hits”
April 2023: impression Big Bang would be pushed back. Three months later, article suggested universe may be twice as old.
April 2024 (Birthday): dream of aurora linked to global psychic awakening. Two weeks later, massive aurora event almost to the equator; had pre-posted poem about it.
Summer 2024: dream of two dogs fighting. Next day bitten by a bull terrier. Same day correctly sensed a contact had COVID; they tested positive.
“Ghost at the Bar”
Night before David Grusch’s 2023 testimony. Spoke aloud about “turbo cancer,” turned and saw a platinum-blonde woman staring at him. Later realized she matched photo of a beloved bar worker dying of cancer, referenced in donation notice inside. Interprets as a ghost encounter.
Photon / Magic Symbol Connection
Sept 2024: messaged childhood friend drawing of his old symbol. Two weeks later saw a scientific image of a photon that matched his design, including imperfections.
Cliff High Incident
About a week before interview. Tried telepathic experiment to contact Cliff High. Next day contacted by fake account; meanwhile real Cliff posted about topics syncing with his posts. Included “beagle with fleas” metaphor, same day Gabe saw a beagle with a cone at vet. Later realized scam, reframed whole sequence as precognition.
