Ep.341 The M/V Pothiti Incident artwork

Greek radio officer Polo Spentzos recounts the incident he and the crew of the merchant vessel M/V Pothiti experienced while sailing from Cuba toward Las Palmas in early November 1978. In calm seas near the Bermuda Triangle, the crew saw a luminous cloud containing a large disc-like object and smaller glowing spheres. Radio contact failed, mechanical clocks accelerated, quartz watches lost hours and ordinary movements became unnaturally slow. Polo describes a short walk that appeared to consume two hours and explains why he connected the event with gravitational time dilation, Einstein’s relativity and the Twin Paradox.
